The French of the month

Nils seems nice, but be wary just the same. Don’t be fooled by his calm and reserved demeanor, and especially don’t go tell him that he makes you think of the “Grand Meaulnes” under the pretext that he comes to us from the “Sologne.”

This tall blond has a dreamer side that his myopic look accentuates, but he’s got a few surprises up his sleeve. His brain is constantly working, and he holds there some dazzling thoughts and images. Ask him to read you the texts that he has memorized for his writing workshop with Françoise Guyon, professor at the I.U.T. journalism school where Nils is in his first year, and you will discover that there is inside Nils a “leatherman” that is waiting to be awakened, that he shared his adolescence with a chainsaw and that he dreams of the final tsunami that will send us all up into the stratosphere. This last text will also be interpreted during the theater piece that will take place the first week in May at the Collège where 28 students in their first year at the journalism school will present their own pieces, directed by Patrick de Bouter.
While waiting, you can walk by, without fear, the room that Nils occupies on the first floor of dorms. There’s really nothing to fear. His chainsaw remains put back in the far reaches of his active imagination, and his deliria remains intellectual. He does it all just for a laugh, anyway.
