N°4 - april 2008
This little rubric is dedicated to
those who, at one time in their lives, worked at the Collège
and who have now turned the page and moved on to other
things.
Kiwi
New Zealand, it’s
far away. To make the trip a little less far when he wants
to return “home”, Kiwi works in London.
His name is Andrew but at
the Collège everyone calls him Kiwi, an evident
allusion to his home country, New Zealand, and some joke
that he’s as round as the fruit of the same name,
but that’s more due to beer than to vitamin C. However,
when one meets him, he’s incredibly friendly, and
full of energy. He’s an exceptionally upbeat person
for whom nothing seems to get him down, even after twenty-five
hours on a plane (the time it takes to get here from New
Zealand).
Arrived in August 2005,
Kiwi has become a regular at the Collège. He came
back as a boursier in summer 2006 and then he went to make
his living, but not too far away
as he is just in London. This makes it easy for him to
come back from time to time. This March he came back for
a week to relax a bit as well as to attend MIPIM, an international
real estate convention, as a property consultant. One Kiwi
among 28 000 participants; you could imagine that he went
unnoticed, but with Kiwi you couldn’t be certain.
