N°4 - april 2008

Theatre course resumed

First rehearsals for the students who signed up for the theater expression seminar

It is extremely rare that the group of theater expression is composed of more guys than girls. In general, the girls make up the majority of the troupe. It’s a little different this semester: four guys and two girls! So, the group is a little reduced for the spring semester (contrary to the fall semester where the group is always about fifteen students).

As usual, it’s Patrick de Bouter who is in charge of the course. He writes the text based upon the number of students, their level of ability in French, and the number of guys versus girls; and he takes charge of the rehearsals. All in all, about 60 hours of work and rehearsal time go into a 75 minute piece. The title of the piece is: “The Hangover” (Gueules de bois), where the misadventure of four guys takes place the day after a crazy game of poker the night before. The presentation is expected for mid-May, just before the Film Festival of Cannes.
