From the Helio-Marine Center to the Collège International de Cannes, Sister Armelle explains…
The Collège International de Cannes moved into the Villa Santa Maria in 1981. Originally, the building was constructed by Dr. Alexandre Pascal to welcome children afflicted with Tuberculosis to help treat them with the helio-marine method. To help him with this task, he was aided by sisters of the order of St. Thomas de Villeneuve, which explains the chapel on campus. Two of the sisters are still living on campus, Sister Marie Armelle and Sister Saint François. Laura Spiteri, a student working on her degree in Journalism, went to meet them to learn more about the doctor’s work.
