We put the tables together so that, even though they chose their seats as they wished, everyone was close to everyone; students, teachers, administrators and all other employees came together for the year’s end dinner, a lunch celebration with applause for the kitchen staff during the dessert to thank them for the work they’ve done throughout the year to serve us family style meals, as opposed to the standardized cafeteria meals one usually gets at an on campus dinning establishment.  This difference is accented by the servers present at every meal to meet the various needs of the different people eating.  At work again for this meal, but gratified by the affectionate smiles of those they serve.
