From the 13th to the 15th of January, three days at the stand of the French Cultural Center of Oslo.
Being present at a study abroad exhibition is a wonderful way to meet prospective students for the coming year, and to show them the advantages of studying at the Collège. However, during the down time- which there always are - one has a wonderful people-watching spot to check out the fashion styles sported by the youth of the country.
Even if brand names and styles seem to be standardized, there are always certain aspects to one’s style which sets it apart from the trends seen in other nearby countries. Norway is no Exception to this generalization. For the girls, the span of styles is vast. It’s the extreme styles that show most clearly. They range from the young blond students with chic tinted peach colors, to their opposites with the gothic look which is blacker than black. For the guys, the baggy jeans are not what catch the attention. You notice more profoundly the hair styles, which go for the disheveled and styled to the long gelled hair flowing from the hat but clinging to the sides of the face.
At the French Cultural Center stand, Kari Quarré and Delphine, her assistant, welcome the various students, who are evidently more undecided about their future study abroad plans than their particular fashion statements. Though, the plans for a study abroad in France look a bit less abstract.
