Seagulls shouting, the blue sky, the palm trees… A day in July as if you were there.
It’s in the summer that the Côte D’Azur comes alive and lives up to its name, and the Collège creates no exception. A day in July includes a myriad of colors and sounds of the region, and a succession of rhythms. The morning is studious: the students are in class, the personnel are in meetings, the cleaners and kitchen staff are hard at their tasks, the café employees are busy preparing for the class break, the administrative staff are glued to their telephones and email. At 10:15, a well needed fifteen minute break commences at the “foyer”. The silence again ensues until noon. The lunch will shortly be served. The beginning of the afternoon means intensive language courses for some, a nap for others, and of course the beach for the hardcore beach bums. After 3:30, the Collège seems almost dead, save for in the office where they are busy responding to phone calls and emails. Near 6:00, the return from the beach, the head a bit lazy and the feet a bit tired. 7:00 is diner time- a bit early for the Spanish students’ tastes- and it’s time to organize the evening’s festivities. The students find their energy once again. Time to go out!
And tomorrow, in class at 9 o’clock, with a clear head, Please.
